The ladies of Migos’ ‘Bad and Boujee’ video are bad, boujee and CLOTHED!!

Hip-hop videos are known for showcasing women in ways that many say are disrespectful and derogatory. If you don’t know what I mean, here are some examples:

Of course this doesn’t go for ALL hip hop videos, but it has been the “norm” for some time.
Until now.
Migos has set the pace towards something different.
The ongoing epidemic of female dehumanization took a brief intermission with the recent success of Atlanta rap group Migos’ chart topping hit “Bad and Boujee.”
After a Golden Globe shout out from Fx’s “Atlanta” creator and eastside ATL native Donald Glover, the song’s popularity took off to a broader scale.

“I really wanna thank the Migos, not for being in the show, but for making ‘Bad and Boujee,’” Glover said. “That’s the best song ever.”

The part that has me hyped is the video for the song.
I was expecting some twerking, popping, poles and skin when I sat down to the video — which has gotten more than 100,000,000 views on YouTube — but it’s filled with ladies rocking some bad and boujee outfits. Take a look:

Classic, bad, boujee, fully clothed women just sitting looking pretty like we always do.
This is a step in the right direction, on a mainstream scale. Their new album is titled “Cluture” for a reason.
